Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Both of my children attended this preschool last year. I looked at least 10 other preschools and had almost decided to not go back to work, until I found Garr. The place is clean as a whistle, everyone (and I do mean everyone) has been so nice to the kids. I did not hear one single employee yell at any child during last year. (A nice change from a previous daycare that I used and a reason I switched.) They have a secured door that you need an electronic card to get in. They have brand new playgound and HUGE sandbox for the kids to play in. The toys are rotated often to keep the kids interested and they are always doing neat activities with them. There is a monthly calendar of activities that changes. This preschool is on the same grounds as Garr Christian Academy so when my oldest child aged out of the preschool, we decided to send him to their academy. 2 kids, different ages, 1 in preschool, 1 in regular school, and only 1 pick-up location! This has saved me at least 45 minutes a day in pick-up and drop-off times alone. We really could not be more thrilled.

Wise Words to Remind You to Watch the Amazing Show of Childhood
One of the most dog-eared and spine-cracked books on our Savvy Parenting Shelf is Wendy Mogel's The Blessing of a Skinned Knee . This month's look at the big picture of parenting and childhood prompted yet another return to the wisdom in Dr. Mogel's pages:

What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?
