Parents' Comments
Parent #1
I took my daughter out of this facility shortly after placing her in it. One day she came home with a poop stain on her underwear, because no one was paying attention to her while she was using the bathroom. One day I picked her up and she was in the bathroom with the door closed all by herself, and the teacher didnā??t even know she was in there! While I was dropping my daughter off one morning a child in her class got reprimanded for accidently peeing in his pants. The teacher in my daughters classroom was lazy, and was changing a child while sitting on the chair one day. One day my daughter came home and said" When the movie was over we watched it again." This daycare uses TV to entertain the children. I noticed that my daughter stopped singing songs when she was home. At her old daycare, before this one, she would come home every day with a new song and learned her ABC's in a week, so I knew they weren't singing songs to the kids or anything. When I asked my daughter if they danced or sang songs there she said no. At the time my daughter was in the 3 year old classroom. The director of the daycare was nice to me on my first visit, when I was evaluating the school, but after I put my daughter in the school she was rude and acted like a different person. I always tell parents not to send their kids here if they are asking for a referral. It was a bad experience and the facility is horribly managed.

Wise Words to Remind You to Watch the Amazing Show of Childhood
One of the most dog-eared and spine-cracked books on our Savvy Parenting Shelf is Wendy Mogel's The Blessing of a Skinned Knee . This month's look at the big picture of parenting and childhood prompted yet another return to the wisdom in Dr. Mogel's pages:
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?
