Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
1. Carmel Mountain Preschool's mission is to provide a loving, supportive, educational environment where children participate in programs that promote individual growth and a lifelong love of learning.
2. Exceptional, highly educated, long term teachers.
3. Early Literacy curriculum with focus on print awareness, letter knowledge, phonics and oral language development.
4. Three new, well equipped playgrounds.
Parents' Comments

Son had a urinary tract infection, and urinated on accident on the playground- I was told he did it on purpose. I can't think of a single strength.
Parent #2
* great curriculum for preparing students for K
* loving and patient teachers
* wide variety of extracurricular activities offered
* large, beautiful playgrounds for each age range

I really like the spaciousness of this school, so that kids can run around and have fun indoors or outdoors. I also like that there is always a new learning theme every several weeks. Teachers would redecorate the rooms with children's artworks specific to the theme. I also like the new playground and the healthy snacks the school provide. Teachers are very dedicated and loving. Many teachers have worked in this school for many many years.

Pros: Great staff. Very nice people. There is no specific time to drop off, so you can run late and still show up for class. The children get to each lunch together. Bathroom fixtures and toilets are kid-sized. If your child is not potty-trained, you can still have them start preschool. They stay with the younger children 'til they get potty trained - great motivation to use the potty.
Cons: The school is expensive, maybe more than it should be. I know some parents who love the school, but couldn't afford it and moved their kids to other preschools. I wish the parents were more involved so that they could meet each other. Strict schedule of MWF, TTh, or everyday. Cannot do MW schedule, for example.

Sometimes parents get trapped into believing their children have to be perfect and that they have to somehow offer every single opportunity to their children to learn at the youngest possible age so they will grow up to be, well brilliant. Sometimes we
