Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children:
...are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Director's Description to School's Approach to Discipline
Discipline and limits are geared to the age of the child. A two year old is shown he/she has hurt someone by looking at the face of the injured child. At three, a child may need to leave school early if he/she falls apart late in the day. An older child sometimes needs to be removed from the group to think about a negative action which hurt others.
Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario
Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'
Three is a terrible number. One might bring in a fourth child or remove the child who is leaving out another individual if he/she can't include all three. Children need to learn compassion and awareness of the feelings of others.
Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety
Parent #1
Grace Church has been operating as a Preschool for over 75 years. The facilities are somewhat older, but have a very beautiful old world charm. Children are made to feel very comforted and nurtured.
Parent #2
I am very confident that the teachers handle conflicts well. The children respond to the teachers guidance and discipline and I've never seen any problems. Children don't have a chance to become wild or to engage in too rough of horseplay. The teachers are very good at making sure all the children are staying engaged and involved in the activities. The children all have a good time.
