Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children:
...are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Director's Description to School's Approach to Discipline
Children are given a time out if they are being disobedient and disrespectful to the teacher or other children. Also they will get a get a time out for intentionally harming another child.
Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario
Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'
This of course will hurt the feeling of child B. We will comfort child B and explain that it is okay for child A to Play with child C today and that maybe child B might want to take that day to make a new friend and play with child D. If child B just can't let it go of the need to play with child A we might help him ask child A and C if Child B could please join in with their play. If that doesn't work well we will start a new game and start playing it with child B .and the other children will follow in with the game.
Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety
Parent #1
Parents are very consciencious of keeping sick kids home and use their own descretion. The front doors remain locked during school hours and safety isn't a concern.
