Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children:
...are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety
Parent #1
Children at MCHS behave amazingly well. We meet for many playdates away from school and they are all very polite, and after two years, I have not seen one altercation. I believe the guides have instilled the respect the children have for one another. The facilities are in excellent condition and much of the playground and classroom equipment is new. The Parents' Club is very active and helps raise the money to keep things up-to-date. The space inside isn't abundant, but just right for a preschool sized children!
Parent #2
My daughter had a particularly bad biting problem when we came to the school. The school assured me that it would not be a problem and, although I didn't believe them initially, it truly wasn't. In three years at the school, she bit one student. Conversely, in the year preceding our enrollment at MCHS, our daughter had been kicked out of four other preschool programs for biting virtually everything in sight. I attribute MCHS' success in resolving her biting issue to close supervision and effectively dealing with student conflict before it became a physical issue.
Parent #3
The grounds are lovely--lots of green grass, trees, and space for the children to run and play. Each classroom has its own courtyard, and my daughter frequently tells me about all of the butterflies she sees in the springtime.
Parent #4
When we were there the building was quite old, but I understand the school is undergoing a FULL renovation and is adding a classroom! I am so excited for the school!

Wise Words to Remind You to Watch the Amazing Show of Childhood
One of the most dog-eared and spine-cracked books on our Savvy Parenting Shelf is Wendy Mogel's The Blessing of a Skinned Knee . This month's look at the big picture of parenting and childhood prompted yet another return to the wisdom in Dr. Mogel's pages:

The new year is all about starting fresh. For some reason, the holidays and winter months cast a spell on us and we feel comforted by the clutter that has gathered all around us. With most schools kicking back into gear this week, this is the time to take inventory, clean
