Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'


Preschoolers are capable of engaging in cooperative play with their peers. Development of these skills is not automatic for children; they need coaching and adult supervision/guidance to learn and maintain appropriate behavior with others. With minimal assistance from adults, children learn to conduct themselves in positive ways and learn to play well with others.
