Our teachers skillfully facilitate problem solving and peaceful conflict resolution,?demonstrate respect for each other,?teach social responsibility and integrate an anti-bias perspective into every aspect of our early childhood programs. This is not a sit at desks and do worksheets school. This is a developmental curriculum with a lot of free choice activities and a lot of physical play. However, there is a definite curriculum with literacy, numeric skills, science, multi-cultural components designed to engage the children and show them that learning is fun and exciting. They do a great job keeping this spark alive so they are eager to go on to kindergarten and beyond to learn more and more.

Pacific Oaks is mainly unstructured free play and child-directed during the younger years, with specific teacher-led instruction in art and music that is elective. As students progress through Pacific Oaks, the curriculum becomes more structured and teacher-facilitated. That being said, the students partner with their teachers in guiding the day's activities and curriculum.
